PARTICIPANT BIOS

Estelle Maisonett investigates how personal relationships to objects and materials inform preconceived notions of identity, economic status, accessibility, race, sexual orientation, and gender. Estelle Maisonett is a Mexican Puerto-Rican mixed-media interdisciplinary artist born and raised in the Bronx, New York. She received her BFA from SUNY Purchase College in 2013 and will be attending the Yale School of Art for her MFA in 2021. She was a 2018 Artist in the MarketPlace Fellow at the Bronx Museum of the Arts and a 2018 BronxArtSpace Summer Artist in Residence. Estelle has exhibited with Chashama, Silent Barn, Field Projects, Bronx Art Space, El Barrio ArtSpace at PS109, Latchkey Gallery, Longwood art Gallery, The Andrew Freedman Home and SUNY Purchase College amongst others.

Gopal Rajegowda has more than 15 years of experience managing all aspects of mixed-use real estate acquisition and development. He led the re-imagination of Rosemary Square, a neighborhood destination in the heart of Downtown West Palm Beach featuring retail, arts & culture, hospitality, and live-work-experience density with programmable public green spaces. Rosemary Square, New Wave Art Wknd's Lead Residency Partner and the location of our resident's studios, features more than 2,000 linear ft of murals by local and international artists, is home to Armory Arts Center Experience and two major public art installations by Jeppe Hein & Symmetry Labs.
