BAM Festival Story Times

BAM, a festival of books, art and music, is popping up on The Square for an afternoon of family-focused story times. Catch three book readings between 1:30-3PM in front of Sloan's.

1:30 | Linda Sue Park - Linda Sue Park is the author of the Newbery Medal book A Single Shard and bestseller A Long Walk to Water. She has also written several acclaimed picture books, fiction and nonfiction, and is a founding member of We Need Diverse Books. She lives in western New York with her family.

2:00 | Lynne Marie - Lynne Marie’s most recent books include The Star of the Christmas Play (Beaming Books 2018), Moldilocks and the 3 Scares (Sterling / Scholastic 2019), Let’s Eat! Mealtime Around the World (Beaming Books 2019), The Three Little Pigs and the Rocket Project (Mac and Cheese Press, 2021), American Pie (Dancing Flamingo Press, 2022) and more, forthcoming. She’s also the Owner and Administrator of both RateYourStory.org - a ratings and feedback provider for Children’s Writers.

2:30 | Ed Masessa - His second book, The Wandmaker's Guidebook, had a nine-week run on the NY Times Bestseller list, two weeks at #1! He has several works of non-fiction, and his first picture book, Scarecrow Magic, is now on sale. Two companion novels to The Wandmaker's Guidebook are available now! He is well respected in the field of Children's Literature by librarians, reading specialists, teachers, parents, and children's book writers. Now a full-time writer, Ed remains active in the Kidlit community by participating in library, reading, and writing conferences throughout the year, and by visiting schools to share his writing techniques with students. And he is an active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.

BAM Festival’s mission is to provide a county-wide literary experience that brings together authors, teachers, students, families, and the community to share their love of books which will in turn promote literacy, encourage fellowship through education, exercise young minds with discussion, and inspire youth to reach high.
