The Square Announces Festive Fall and Winter 2022 Event Line-up

With fall and winter family festivals, a year-round Sunday gourmet market, pumpkin patch, panel discussions, Santa and elves, traditional annual snowfall, and tree lighting, the centralized downtown district announces its roster of must-visit events for all ages

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – August 15, 2022 – The Square’s fall and holiday season line-up of experiences will transform the neighborhood into West Palm Beach’s most festive and memorable destination. Kicking off in October and running through New Year’s Eve, the season's activities include local artisan and farmers markets, interactive workshops, live performances, and most excitingly, a signature white South Florida season with nightly snowfalls and a showstopping light show of The Wishing Tree.

In the spirit of the season, a strong focus has been placed on giving back to locally beloved organizations including a Dress For Success pop-up, a women’s health panel in October honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Taste of The Square food festival benefiting The Promise Fund of Florida.

Sunday Market

Ongoing through Labor Day; returning Oct 2 from 10AM-7PM through April

Open to the public every Sunday in partnership with Florida Fresh Market, this new weekly seasonal fresh market offers a variety of specialty food and artisan pop-up vendors like Nisha’s Flavors of India, El Viandero Fresh Fruit Stand, Slice of Europe, and more.

Shop for Success Pop-Up Sale

September 30-Oct 2

Hosted by Dress for Success Palm Beaches, shop for couture and name brand labels from luxury to everyday brands for two days at The Square. The pop-up will be located next to Sloan’s and raises funds for the year-round efforts of providing long-lasting solutions to help women break the cycle of poverty through their Suiting program, job readiness, and ongoing network of support. Shop hours will be Friday and Saturday, 11AM-8PM, and Sunday, 12-5PM. A VIP reception will be on Thursday, September 29 from 6-9 pm.; tickets $50 pp with limited availability. Fall Pumpkin Patch

Oct 14-16, 21-23, 28-30; Fri: 5-9PM, Sat & Sun: 10AM-7PM

The Square’s beloved pumpkin patch is sprouting back up on the lawn as the official commencement of the fall season in West Palm Beach. Run by the Plant Whisperers from The Garden Shoppe, the bright gourds will be available to pick starting in mid-October with family-friendly activities.

Fall Picnic & Cocktail Class

October 2 from 3-5PM

Celebrate pumpkin season with a lawn picnic and cocktail class with mixology extraordinaire, Gio Gutierrez, of the renowned Instagram @chatchowtv, and a fall photo backdrop. Open to the public; tickets will be available on Eventbrite in September.

Women’s Health & Wellness Panel

October 6 from 6-7PM

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Square will host a women’s health & Breast Cancer Awareness-focused panel on the lawn. Free with reserved VIP ticket available on Eventbrite, available in September.

Pooch Parade & Costume Contest

October 8 from 9-12PM

Gather with your neighbors and show off your furry friends in this pet parade and costume contest along Rosemary Avenue in partnership with Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. On-site registration begins at 9AM, the parade at 10:15AM, and the contest starts at 10:30AM.

Let’s Get Latin with Chat Chow TV

October 8-9 from 5-8PM

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Instagram-famous culinary creator, Gio Gutierrez (@ChatChowTV), The Square, and PLANTA have partnered together to ring in the month-long celebration with a “Let’s Get Latin” festival. Featuring Latin-inspired cocktail classes with nods to Cuba, Peru, Mexico, and Spain as well as a festive line-up of salsa and other Latin dance classes plus live music, the festival celebrates the rich history and culture of Latin-American communities through pachanga & cocktails. Tickets are $35 per person and includes two cocktails, appetizers, a drink ticket from PLANTA, and gratuity. Space is limited to 20 guests per class, and attendees are encouraged to book their tickets on Eventbrite in advance; tickets will be available in September.

Taste of The Square

October 20 from 6-9PM (VIP begins at 5:30PM)

Let the eating commence! The Square will transform into a gastronomic destination offering ticket holder food samples from guests' favorite restaurants, live music and a pop-up bar on the lawn, and a special VIP experience that includes early access and beverage. The festival supports the Promise Fund of Florida, a non-profit that aims to prevent the unnecessary progression of breast and cervical cancer, with a donation of 100 percent of the net proceeds. Participating restaurants include PLANTA, True Food Kitchen, Galley at Hilton West Palm Beach, sweetgreen, II Bellagio, and more. Tickets start at $35 for general admission and go on sale on Eventbrite on September 8th.

Diwali Celebration

October 22 from 3-7PM

Join the community celebration and education of Diwali through cultural entertainment programming, including a Revolutionary Storytime and activity, lantern making with Resource Depot, pop-ups of Indian delicacies, henna design and accessories, vibrant music, and closing out with dancing and a traditional Festival of Lights tree lighting ceremony at the Wishing Tree. RSVP required and donation encouraged.

Zen Hippo Kids Fall Festival

October 23 from 10:30AM-12PM

In partnership with Zen Hippo, a collective of local experts offering wellness and mindful play programs for expecting and new parents, caregivers, babies, and toddlers, the event will feature leaf pressing, apple and corn crafts, pumpkin exploration, readings of fall-themed stories with Rohi’s Readery, singalongs and more. RSVP required on Eventbrite; tickets live in September.

Holiday Kickoff

November 12 from 2-10PM

For a festive and merry beginning to the holiday season and one of the largest celebrations of the year, visit The Square for an all-day holiday artisan market, nostalgic Yuletide Carolers, visit with Santa and his Elves, and the countdown to the main festivities; promptly at 6:30PM, the first magical nightly snowfall, holiday Wishing Tree light show and a lively evening of show-stopping musical performances begin. Pair the festivities with dinner and reserve the best seats in the house at The Square restaurants in advance.

Photos with Santa

November 12-December 23; Fridays and Saturdays from 6-8PM; Sundays from 5-7PM

Commemorate the holidays with an outing the whole family will remember when meeting the jolly man himself during photos with Santa at The Workshop, located by The Wishing Tree; his trusty Elves will be joining him on Fridays. First come, first served; no reservations required. Attendees are responsible for their photos; complimentary.

Holiday Artisan Market

November 12 from 2-10PM and November 13 from 10AM-7PM

Along with the Sunday farmer’s market, The Square will unveil a picturesque artisan market reminiscent of a Parisian bazaar on this special holiday kickoff weekend. While strolling along Rosemary Avenue lined with shops set under colorful canopies, visitors can shop for gifts and holiday goods from a variety of local specialty vendors.

12th Annual Downtown WPB Art Festival

November 19-20 from 10AM-5PM

Enjoy an afternoon filled with arts and culture during the 12th Annual Downtown West Palm Beach Art Festival featuring all mediums of fine art. Residents and visitors are invited to stroll Rosemary Avenue amidst life-size sculptures, spectacular paintings, one-of-a-kind jewels, photography, ceramics, and more from the local and national artists who are on site to discuss their inspirations and processes for each hand-made work.

Zen Hippo Winter Wonderland

December 11 from 10:30AM-12PM

In partnership with Zen Hippo, the wonderland pop-up will celebrate with little chef’s cookie-cutter snowflake-shaped fruits and veggies, holiday-themed read-a-loud, sing-a-longs, frozen sensory playtime with frozen snowman, pine cone prints, and more. Tickets will be available on Eventbrite.

Kwanza Celebration

December 30 from 5:30-6PM

In partnership with Afrique Ngozi Dance and Drum company, The Square’s Kwanza Celebration allows guests to explore the seven principles that makeup Kwanzaa alongside live performances of West African dancing and drumming on the Water Pavilion. Complimentary to attend.

Holiday Live Music

Guests can enjoy Yuletide Carolers every Sunday from November 13-December 18 from 5- 7PM, Christmas Day live performances on December 25 from 6-10PM and New Year's Eve live performances from 11:30AM until midnight. The holiday performances complement weekly live music year-round on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Weekly Daytime Playtime

Every Wednesday-Friday from 11AM-1PM

Free and open to the public each week, experience water tables, extra shade, games, and more best for those 5 and under to play and engage with the outdoors in a tropical oasis setting. Occasional Pop & Fizz beverage stations from The Square restaurants are also available during this time.
