Taste of CityPlace: It’s a Real Trip!

Foodies, get ready for your annual trip around the world, courtesy of CityPlace!

It all happens on the main plaza, October 20, 2016 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the event.

Don’t delay in getting your Taste Ticket – your “airfare” to flavorful fare. Sample a wide variety of cultures and cuisines, all found at CityPlace restaurants. So, are you ready for takeoff? Here’s a sampling of the selections waiting for you:

Cabo Flats: Avocado Fries & Frozen Mango Margarita

Cabo Flats Cantina & Tequila Bar

This dish will have you eating avocados… avocatres… avoquatro… they’re just that good! Pair them with a frozen mango margarita and you’ll be humming happily along with a mouthful of fiesta!

Brio: Pasta alla Vodka and White Peach Palmer

BRIO Tuscan Grille

“When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” Okay, so you’re not actually in Rome, but your mouth won’t know it.  Brio’s famous Penne alla Vodka will transport your senses to a cozy trattoria near the Pantheon. Compliment it with a White Peach Palmer ..  and that’s amore.

Rita’s: Mini Gelati

Rita’s

What’s better than ice cream? Italian ice cream. Gelato typically contains less air and more flavoring than other frozen treats, giving it a distinguished richness and density. How to say yum in Italian? “Gnam-gnam-gnam!”

Thai Jo: Sushi Rolls (California Roll, Ibiza Veggie Roll, Spicy Crab Roll, JB Roll) & Sake

Thai Jo by Sushi Jo

It’s time to stop, drop, and “roll” over to Thai Jo for the chance to sample four fire sushi selections. If you have never tried Sake, now’s the time! This traditional Japanese libation is brewed in a process similar to beer, has an ABV % comparable to wine, but offers a world-famous taste that owns the Orient.

City Tap House: Crispy Suckling Pig with Sweet Potato Hash & Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest

City Tap House

Oktoberfest, a celebration of beer and good times, is the most popular German custom that Germany has ever exported to the rest of the world (next to the Christmas tree). Awaiting you at City Tap House is Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest beer! And if there’s anything Germans love more than beer, its pork. Crispy Suckling Pig with Sweet Potato Hash is the perfect pub plate pairing awaiting you.

Village Cheese Shop: Feta, Watermelon, Mint Skewers & Pomegranate Lemonade

Village Gourmet Cheese Shoppe

Watermelon originated in West Africa, and is packed with nutritional benefits in addition to being the ultimate fruity refresher. Add a Greek cheese, fresh mint and you get a worldly snack that packs serious flavor. Wash it down with Pomegranate Lemonade.

Brother Jimmy’s BBQ: Pulled Pork & Pulled Chicken Sliders with Cole Slaw

Brother Jimmy’s BBQ

Since we live in the south, it’s only right that we indulge in some Southern grub! Brother Jimmy’s Pulled Pork & Pulled Chicken Sliders are finger-lickin’ delicious. The sliders are coupled with crunchy Cole Slaw- sure to satisfy all of your senses.

Blue Martini: Beef Tenderloin on Crostini with Tomato Slice & Creamy Horseradish Roasted Red Pepper Sauce with Pomegranate Martini

Blue Martini

No one does a martini quite like Blue Martini. This Pomegranate Martini made with Finlandia Grapefruit Vodka, Bols Pomegranate Liqueur, Cranberry and Soda is delectably sweet and will surely raise your *spirits!* The cocktail is paired with Beef Tenderloin on Crostini with Tomato Slice & Creamy Horseradish Roasted Red Pepper Sauce —  ‘nuff said.

This is just a snippet of what’s to come; with 21 restaurants participating, you won’t want to miss this! Be sure to mark your calendar for October 20, 2016 for this scrumptious event. A portion of the proceeds from Taste of CityPlace will go to American Cancer Society Making Strides against Breast Cancer.
