FRESH NEW DINING CONCEPT, TACO VIDA TO OPEN AT CITYPLACE

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (October 23, 2009) — South Florida restaurateur Lirim Jacobi will open a new, Mexican-inspired restaurant concept, Taco Vida at CityPlace. Located on the high-profile corner of South Rosemary Ave. and Fern St. across from Publix, the 2,800-square-foot taco and burrito bar is scheduled to open before Thanksgiving. Jacobi also owns Taverna Opa, City Pizza, Wild Ginger Asian Bistro and the recently announced Wild Olives by Todd English, a partnership with the celebrity chef and best-selling author, which will also open in mid-November.

“Taco Vida and Wild Olives will add a delicious and dynamic new dimension to CityPlace’s north end,” said Ryan Hallihan, general manager of CityPlace. “It comes at the prefect time, at the start of season and in tandem with the opening of our new parking lot across from Publix.”

Taco Vida will feature a menu of burritos, tacos, quesadillas and more, prepared with fresh and flavorful ingredients such as chile-lime shrimp, oven-roasted chicken breast, ancho chile adobo seasoned pork, carne asada and grilled vegetables. The health-conscious customer will love the whole wheat tortillas, and the racy “burrito in the buff,” which is served on a bed of lettuce without the tortilla or rice. The “big ass burrito” takes the opposite approach by stuffing a 14-inch tortilla with all the fillings. Taco Vida will also offer homemade salsas, including a spicy salsa roja, medium-heat salsa verde and chipotle tomato, and milder salsa fresca. Most menu items are reasonably priced between $3 and $7.

Taco Vida will be open for lunch and dinner with indoor dining and an outdoor patio area. They also plan to have authentic mariachi bands playing on the weekends.

Other new shops and restaurants that have recently opened at CityPlace include Carousel Can Can Café; Apricot Lane; Solstice; Lost City Cigars; and Run & Roll. Wild Olives is expected to open by mid-November, B.B. King’s Blues Bar will open November 19, and McCormick & Schmick’s will open early next year.
