The focus is to show the community that there is another aspect of art and culture in a community that many of the Palm Beach County community have yet to experience.  This year’s group includes artists who are originally from, reside or are represented in the state of Florida in one location here in Palm Beach County.  The concept of art itself does not have to be in reflection of the diaspora. Coming to CityPlace September 13; additional details coming soon!

Kretzer Piano Music Foundation presents a monthly concert series “Music for the Mind” in the Harriet Theater at CityPlace. These concerts, held the third Tuesday of every month at 7pm, feature musical groups from Palm Beach and Martin County.

Kids from the West Palm Beach Police Athletic League are set to tour four local hot spots in Downtown West Palm this summer. They will get a hands on experience with local chefs and culinary talent!

Through September, guests who bring 3 or more items from the Feeding South Florida needs list will be given four hours of complimentary parking at CityPlace garages.

Improv offers CPR Class to Community

Aligned with CityPlace’s commitment to education and the local community, Palm Beach Improv is offering a Comedy CPR class on July 17 from 7-8:30pm. The class offers belly laughing stand-up comedy and a chance to learn to save lives. More information can be found here.

CityPlace Starbucks Hosting Backpack Drive for Childhelp
July 25-30, 2018

From July 25-30, Starbucks in the heart of CityPlace will be a drop off location for backpacks. Childhelp is one of the largest and oldest nonprofit organizations in the United States that is dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect, as well as at risk children, and families that are going through a tough time in our country.

Related Funds New Summer & Fall Artists Showcase
Launching June 9, 2018

The beloved Artists Showcase of the Palm Beaches will be back this summer and fall at the historic Jenkins House. Kicking off with an 8-week program summer camp entitled “PENCIL & PEN “Live the Dream: ”Allow Justice, Peace and Love to Flow like Never Ending Rivers”. It will showcase the Lowe Collection at HJH and include 32 youths, ranging from 7-15 yrs old from June 9-July 28 8am- 2pm  in addition to other academic pursuits. In the fall, the Florida Highwaymen exhibit might include small grouping of paintings presented with a Collector’s discussion and interview with Dr. Catherine Lowe as representative of the Lowe Collection.

‘Thumbelina’ Fairy Tale Playhouse at CityPlace as part of City of West Palm Beach Summer in Paradise
June 8 – July 26, 2018

As part of the City of West Palm Beach’s “Summer in Paradise” (S.I.P.) campaign, 15 playhouses were painted and adorned by local artists and displayed on the waterfront. They will later be auctioned off in support of 15 local nonprofits. This year summer will also extend beyond the shore, as fans of the “Fairy Tale Playhouses” can get their additional fill by visiting two more child-size homes. The “Thumbelina” house, designed by internationally-acclaimed artist Frankie Cihi, is sponsored by Related Companies and will be on display in the Magic Garden, a community green space on the corner of Rosemary Avenue and Evernia Street, opening later this summer. In the interim, the playhouse will delight small shoppers visiting CityPlace, as it is currently on display at on the square at CityPlace. At the end of the summer, it will be donated to Quantum House.

Dreyfoos Summer Showcase at Culture Lab
June 21- July 1, 2018

Dreyfoos students Adam Herold, Morgan Teman, Bella Salvador, and Jessica Moorehead formed Kickstartist, a nonprofit organization to help young artists kickstart their art careers and fund Dreyfoos School of the Arts. In an effort to provide the platform for neighboring students, a summer art showcase will be held at Culture Lab featuring numerous Dreyfoos students. PAL Bragging Rights Breakdancing Competition
September 2, 2018 at CityPlace

This culminating summer event with PAL at CityPlace aims to bring positive attention to the world of hip hop and dancing and will be held on the square on Sunday, September 2 in the late afternoon.
